Regular readers of our blog will know that here at Land Rover Houston Central we are constantly on the scent of the latest news from our favorite British automaker. Recently we heard rumors that came from Autocar magazine about the possible addition of new RS versions to several new Land Rover vehicles.

If don't happen to know, RS essentially means performance version. Any Land Rover model that received an RS badge would come with an extra dose of speed, performance and styling. From what we hear, both the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport could be getting RS variations made sometime in 2014.

A Range Rover Evoque RS model would likely include a modified version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that is currently used. We suspect that larger wheels, a modified body-kit and other details would be featured as well.

In a Range Rover Sport RS, we have a hard time imagining that there is any way to improve the record-setting 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that is currently used. There is a chance that some powertrain technology could be borrowed from Jaguar to bring the horsepower up closer to 542.

Whatever happens with future RS versions of these Land Rover vehicles we will be sure to keep you updated. Until then, you can keep yourself going by making a visit to the Land Rover Houston Central showroom. Located at 7019 Old Katy Road Houston, TX, we provide excellent Land Rover sales and service to drivers in the Sugar Land area.
