Here at Land Rover Houston Central we were paying close attention to the Los Angeles Auto Show which wrapped up earlier this month. Firstly, we kept up to speed because we love cars and the entire show was just a sea of new glistening metal. Secondly, we knew that there were going to be some announcements made about new Land Rover models.
We were not disappointed when the new 2013 Range Rover was unveiled, showing off the industry's first, all-aluminum sports utility vehicle. That's right, the new Range Rovers are made from a tough and super-lightweight aluminum and we have them right here at Land Rover Houston Central.
The big switch to the new metal shaved off 700 lbs. That means a better overall fuel economy. Company spokespeople also noted that the reduction in weight also improved performance and agility on the new Range Rover.
Not much has changed under the hood. Customers will still receive the same Land Rover 5.0-liter V8 engine that can push out 375 horsepower; unless drivers opt for the supercharged version that brings 510 horsepower with it. Both engines are hooked up to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission with standard paddle shifters.
