As all-terrain utility vehicles go, Land Rover has been a favorite of the rich and famous for a long time. One such Land Rover driver was none other than Bob Marley; the world renowned reggae artist from Jamaica. During his time on the island, Marley drove an 1877 Series III Land Rover Defender. Since his death, the vehicle has been sitting out in the open, uncared for, and decaying in the sun and rain.

Now, thanks to a dual effort from Sandals Resorts International and ATL Automotive in Montego Bay, Jamaica; Mr. Marley's Land Rover will undergo intense vehicle repair to restore it to its original condition.

"It is a tremendous honour to help return such an extraordinary automobile to its former glory," said Sandals CEO Adam Stewart. "This project has been a long time in the planning and we can't wait to play our part in history -- there are few people in the world who Bob Marley hasn't inspired through his music at some point, so it is only right that we ensure his legacy continues to inspire for many years to come."1

It is going to take a lot of high-quality Land Rover parts to get the Defender up and running again, but with the right funding and great service from local mechanics, we imagine this famous Rover will be cruising through the Blue Mountains in no time.
